Nataliya Nechyporenko

I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) at the Human-Interaction and Robotics (HIRO) lab, advised by Prof. Alessandro Roncone. The goal of my research is to enable robots to interact with complex human environments by developing innovative motion planning and control algorithms that combine machine learning and model-based optimization. My research is funded by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) and by the Apple Scholars in AIML PhD fellowship.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut (UConn) and my Master's Degree in Robotics from the University of Nantes (ECN) and Jaume I University (UJI) through the European Master on Advanced Robotics (EMARO). My industrial experience spans established industries and small-scale startups. I developed robotic solutions for LUUM, and Dorabot as a software engineer. I also interned at Apple as a research scientist, advised by Mouli Sivapurapu and Jian Zhang.

I am also a collaborator and a creator. Working with people is one of the great joys of research so if you have an idea for a project or a prospect, then please send me a quick message over e-mail.

Human knowledge is never contained in one person. It grows from the relationships we create between each other and the world, and still, it is never complete.― Paul Kalanithi, When Breath Becomes Air
